The Zipp Service Course CX Handlebar Tape is engineered for cyclists, particularly those navigating the intense conditions of cyclocross and road riding, who prioritize both comfort and a secure grip. Its primary benefit is the thick, vibration-dampening foam paired with a specialized cross-hatch texture that maintains traction even in mud or rain; however, its substantial thickness may feel too bulky for riders who prefer the razor-thin, tactile feel of standard race tape.

Yes, while designed for CX, its vibration-dampening qualities make it an excellent choice for any road cyclist looking for extra comfort.
Each set includes two 1.9-meter rolls, which is plenty for most standard handlebars.
Yes, it includes two iconic oval Zipp bar-end plugs.
Simply use a damp cloth to wipe away mud and debris; avoid abrasive brushes or harsh chemicals.
The adhesive is strong, but you can usually re-wrap it once if done immediately during the installation process.
Re-wrap the tape using higher tension and ensure the overlapping layers are consistent to help the adhesive bond firmly.
Adjust the overlap specifically around the shifter hoods to minimize bulk, or remove excess material if necessary.
Ensure the tape is tucked far enough inside the bar end so the plug has enough material to bite into for a secure fit.
To install, start from the bar ends and work your way toward the stem. Maintain firm, consistent tension during the wrap to ensure the adhesive backing bonds securely to the bars. Because the tape is thick, avoid excessive overlapping on the top sections to prevent the bar diameter from becoming too large for your grip. Compatibility is universal, fitting standard drop bars for both road and cyclocross bikes. For care, wipe down the tape with a damp cloth after muddy rides to remove grit and salt. Avoid using harsh chemical solvents, as these may degrade the texture and adhesive over time.
