FAQs
Can I play this without the original Cards Against Humanity game?
No, this set only includes the prompt book and additional cards; you must have an existing set of Cards Against Humanity white cards to play.
How many people can play at once?
Like the base game, it is best played with 4 to 20+ players.
Are the prompts in the book appropriate for everyone?
No, consistent with the brand, the content is intended for mature audiences and contains offensive or adult humor.
Does the book contain every single prompt?
The book contains dozens of replayable tales, providing hundreds of potential prompt interactions.
Is this a standalone expansion?
No, it is a specialized expansion from the Twists series that requires your base deck to fill in the blanks.
Troubleshooting
The game feels repetitive with the same prompts.
Ensure you are mixing your base deck white cards thoroughly and encourage players to choose cards they haven't used in previous rounds.
Players are unsure how to complete a specific story prompt.
The game is designed for creative interpretation; encourage players to pick the most absurd or unexpected card even if it doesn't make perfect grammatical sense.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Adds a fresh narrative layer to traditional CAH gameplay
- High-quality leatherbound book provides a premium feel
- Highly replayable due to thousands of possible card combinations
- Simple ruleset allows for immediate setup
Cons
- Requires an existing Cards Against Humanity base deck
- Not intended for solo play
- Content may be inappropriate for younger audiences or conservative groups
Setup, Compatibility & Care
To begin playing, ensure you have your main deck of Cards Against Humanity white cards shuffled and ready. Assign one player to hold the leatherbound book to manage the flow of stories.
Compatibility: This expansion is compatible with all official Cards Against Humanity white card packs. It is not a standalone game and cannot be played without white cards from the base set or other expansions.
Care: The leatherbound book is a durable physical asset but should be kept away from liquid spills common in party environments. Store prompt cards in their original box or a card organizer to prevent fraying at the edges. Keep all components in a dry, cool environment to maintain the integrity of the card stock.
