Troubleshooting

Drawers are stiff or difficult to open/close.

Ensure the chest is on a level surface. Check for any obstructions inside the drawer runners. Occasionally, a bit of candle wax or silicone spray applied sparingly to the runners can help improve glide.

The chest feels unstable.

Verify that the chest is placed on a flat, even floor. If the floor is uneven, consider using shims under the base to stabilize it. Check that all drawers are closed properly.

Surface has minor marks or scratches.

For light marks, try a wood polish or cleaner suitable for lacquered oak. For deeper scratches, professional repair may be necessary, or a wood touch-up pen could be used to conceal the damage.
