Setup, Compatibility & Care
Initial Setup:
Before first use, wash the casserole dishes in warm, soapy water, rinse thoroughly, and dry completely. It is recommended to lightly oil the interior surface with cooking oil and heat gently on the hob for a few minutes, then wipe clean to season the enamel. This process helps to protect the enamel coating.
Compatibility:
These casserole dishes are compatible with all stovetop types, including induction, gas, electric, and ceramic hobs. They are also oven-safe for use at high temperatures and can be taken directly from the oven to the table. They are *not* microwave-safe.
Care Instructions:
- Cleaning: Allow the dish to cool before washing. Clean with warm, soapy water and a soft sponge or nylon brush. Avoid abrasive scouring pads or metal utensils that could scratch the enamel.
- Drying: Always dry the dishes completely with a soft cloth after washing to prevent moisture from damaging the surface or potentially causing rust spots if any microscopic damage to the enamel exists.
- Storage: Store in a dry place. For added protection, place a protective cloth or paper towel between dishes if stacking.
- Seasoning: Periodically, especially if you notice food starting to stick, re-season the interior by applying a thin layer of cooking oil and heating gently on the hob as described in the initial setup.
