FAQs
What are the dimensions of this shelf?
The OHS Accent Rectangle Shelf measures 61 x 13 x 6cm.
Is the mounting hardware included?
Please check your package contents, but generally, it is recommended to use wall-specific fixings (screws/anchors) suited for your wall type.
Can I paint this shelf a different color?
The shelf comes in a finished beige; while it can be customized, altering the surface may void any return policies.
How much weight can the shelf support?
The shelf is designed for decorative accessories and lightweight essentials. Avoid placing heavy items like large hardback book collections or heavy kitchen appliances on it.
Is this suitable for a bathroom?
While it can be used in many rooms, ensure it is not placed in areas with direct water contact or extreme humidity to preserve the material.
Troubleshooting
Shelf appears tilted or uneven
Check the mounting brackets with a spirit level and adjust the screws as necessary to ensure it is perfectly horizontal.
Shelf feels loose or wobbly
Verify that the mounting hardware is fully tightened and that the wall anchors are appropriate for your specific wall material.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Sleek, modern floating appearance
- Compact dimensions ideal for small spaces
- Versatile design fits multiple interior styles
- Easy to incorporate into existing decor
Cons
- Not intended for heavy-duty storage
- Limited to a single color (Beige)
- Requires wall-mounting installation
Setup, Compatibility & Care
Installation requires standard wall-mounting hardware appropriate for your specific wall type (e.g., drywall anchors for plasterboard or masonry screws for brick). Before mounting, ensure you use a spirit level to guarantee the shelf sits flush and straight. For compatibility, the beige finish pairs well with white, grey, or pastel wall colors. To care for your shelf, wipe it down periodically with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust. Avoid using abrasive cleaning agents or excessive water, as these may damage the finish over time. Periodically check the mounting screws to ensure they remain tight against the wall surface.
