What sizes are available?

The Korsteel Soft Rubber Eggbutt Jointed Snaffle is available in 5" and 5.5" sizes.

How often should I inspect the bit?

Inspect the bit before each use for any signs of wear or damage.

What is the purpose of the eggbutt rings?

Eggbutt rings help the bit sit quietly in the horse's mouth, encouraging consistent contact and preventing pinching.

What is the benefit of the rubber material?

The soft rubber material provides a gentler feel and encourages chewing and salivation, potentially improving acceptance.

Can I use this bit for jumping?

While suitable for dressage, consider the bit's suitability for jumping based on your horse's needs and training level. This bit can be used for jumping, if it is working well for you and your horse.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

  1. Sizing: The bit is available in 5" and 5.5" sizes. Measure your horse's mouth to ensure the correct fit. The bit should sit comfortably without pinching or excessive space at the corners of the mouth.
  2. Fitting: Attach the bit to the bridle with the eggbutt rings. Ensure the bit sits at the correct height in the horse's mouth, typically with one or two wrinkles at the corner of the lips.
  3. Compatibility: This bit is compatible with most standard bridles. However, always check for proper fit and function.
  4. Care: After each use, rinse the bit with clean water to remove any saliva or debris. Check for any signs of wear, such as cracks or tears in the rubber, before each ride. Replace the bit if any damage is found.
