Create secure boundaries with ease using lightweight wire fencing designed for small livestock and...Create secure boundaries with ease using lightweight wire fencing designed for small livestock and pets, offering reliable protection for gardens and fields. Made from mild steel, this fence has 15cm gaps between vertical wires for flexibility and strength. Hot-dipped galvanisation and compliance with BS EN 10244-2 Class A standards mean you'll get long-lasting durability whether it's for dog-proofing, cattle enclosures or supporting a growing hedge. Fences come in three heights: 60cm, 80cm and 120cm. ’15’ is the width between the vertical wires – all our stock fences have a 15cm gap between the vertical wires. First put in your fence posts. Space 1.8m to 2m apart – for a garden you can use 50mm dia. round posts or 75mm dia. round posts. The 75m dia. posts are much stronger and will last a lot longer and we recommend you place one at the start and end of your fence and one every 5 posts in between to act as strainers. The fences come in rolls and you roll-out the fence as you fix it to the post using ‘U’ shaped fencing staples – don’t un-roll the whole fence! Work from post to post, making sure the bottom wire is touching the ground at all times. You can pull the fence tight by hand or with a tension bar but make sure you don’t over-tension – if the spring kinks are stretched out it is too tight – wire expands and contracts with heat so you must allow the spring kinks to do their job – otherwise the fence will sag. We also stock a wide range of fencing staples, line wire and high tensile barbed wire, as well a full range of fence posts.
This wire fencing is ideal for homeowners needing to create secure boundaries for small livestock, pets, or garden protection. Its key benefit is providing durable, flexible, and long-lasting containment. A potential consideration is the need for proper post installation and tensioning to ensure optimal performance. It features a hot-dipped galvanised mild steel construction with 15cm gaps between vertical wires, available in three heights (60cm, 80cm, 120cm), and complies with BS EN 10244-2 Class A standards for superior rust resistance.

FAQs
What does '15' in L10/120/15 refer to?
The '15' refers to the spacing between the vertical wires, which is 15cm. All stock fences have this gap between vertical wires.
What is the purpose of the spring kinks in the wire?
The spring kinks are designed to allow the wire to expand and contract with temperature changes. They help maintain tension without over-stretching the wire, preventing sagging.
Can this fencing be used for larger livestock like sheep or cattle?
This fencing is primarily designed for small livestock and pets. For larger or more determined animals, stronger, higher-tensile fencing or electric fencing solutions would be more appropriate.
How far apart should I place my fence posts?
Fence posts should be spaced between 1.8m to 2m apart. For added strength, use strainer posts at the start and end of the fence and approximately every 5 posts in between.
What kind of posts are recommended?
For garden use, 50mm diameter round posts can suffice. For greater strength and longevity, 75mm diameter round posts are recommended.
Does the fencing come with posts or staples?
No, the fencing is supplied as rolls of wire mesh. Posts, staples, and tensioning tools need to be purchased separately.
How do I ensure the fence is secure enough for dogs?
Ensure the fence is taut but not over-tensioned, and that the bottom edge is flush with the ground or slightly buried to prevent digging underneath.
Troubleshooting
Fence is sagging or loose
The fence has likely been over-tensioned. Loosen the tension slightly by releasing some pressure on the tension bar or straining wires. Ensure the spring kinks are still visible.
Posts are leaning or unstable
Ensure posts are sunk sufficiently into the ground and that strainer posts are used at appropriate intervals and corners. Compact the soil firmly around the base of each post.
Small animals are digging under the fence
Bury the bottom edge of the fence at least 10-15cm into the ground or use additional ground staples or weights along the base.
Difficulty in attaching fence to posts
Use appropriate U-shaped fencing staples and a hammer or staple gun for secure attachment. Ensure you are fastening to the posts at multiple points along the fence height.

Available in multiple heights to meet diverse needs.
Cons

Setup, Compatibility & Care Instructions
Setup:
Install Posts: Place fence posts (50mm or 75mm diameter recommended) 1.8m to 2m apart. Use stronger 75mm posts for corners and every 5 posts as strainers.
Unroll Fencing: Carefully unroll the fencing. Do not unroll the entire length at once. Work section by section.
Attach Fencing: Fix the fencing to the posts using ‘U’ shaped fencing staples. Ensure the bottom wire remains touching the ground.
Tensioning: Gently pull the fence tight by hand or with a tension bar. *Crucially, do not over-tension.* The spring kinks should remain visible. Over-tensioning will stretch them out, causing the wire to sag as it expands and contracts with temperature changes.
Compatibility:
Compatible with standard fencing posts, U-shaped staples, line wire, and barbed wire. Inspirational Gifting offers a range of complementary fencing supplies.
Care:
The hot-dipped galvanised finish provides excellent corrosion resistance. No specific maintenance is typically required. Periodically check for any physical damage or loose staples.
