The Drennan Vertex Float Rod - 15ft is specifically designed for float fishing, offering excellent control and presentation, particularly in rivers or windy conditions.
The rod is capable of casting floats up to 10g.
It is optimally designed for reel lines ranging from 3lb to 6lb.
While it has enough power in the lower sections to handle larger fish, it is primarily a float rod. It is best suited for catching smaller to medium-sized carp when float fishing. For heavy carp fishing, a dedicated carp rod would be more appropriate.
Wipe the handle with a damp cloth after use. Avoid harsh chemicals. For cork, a light sanding can remove dirt if necessary. EVA can be cleaned with mild soap and water.
While technically possible, the rod's design is optimized for float fishing. Its fast tip action and length are not ideal for the casting and retrieval techniques used in spinning or lure fishing, where a more parabolic action might be preferred.
Ensure the spigots are fully inserted and aligned. If the issue persists, the spigot may be worn and could require repair or replacement.
Check that your reel line is not tangled and that the float is correctly attached. Practice your casting technique, focusing on a smooth, controlled action.
Inspect the rod rings for chips or cracks. Damaged rings can fray your fishing line. If damage is found, the rings should be professionally replaced.
