Pumpkin Connecticut Field (cucurbita pepo): A traditional garden favourite dating back to the 1700s. These pumpkins feature orange, smooth, firm skin with a flat base, making them ideal for Halloween lanterns. The flesh also has a good flavour, suitable for pies and other culinary uses. Reliable and easy to grow, these pumpkins are perfect for both indoor and outdoor planting. Sow seeds 1.5cm deep in moist compost indoors from April to June, or directly outdoors from May to June. Ensure plants are spaced 48" / 120cm apart. Harvest is typically in October. Keep plants watered regularly and protect from the cold. Turn fruits regularly for consistent colouration.
