Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free from dust and debris. For previously painted walls or tiles, a light sanding might be beneficial.
- For optimal adhesion and a smooth finish, apply a coat of primer and allow it to dry completely (typically 24 hours).
- Position the stencil on the prepared surface. Use masking tape to secure it firmly in place.
- Apply paint sparingly using a brush or small foam roller. Avoid overloading the tool with paint to prevent bleeding under the stencil edges.
- For floors and patios, start stenciling from the point furthest from the exit.
- Carefully lift the stencil after applying the paint. A fine brush can be used to touch up any minor bleeds.
- Allow the paint to dry thoroughly according to the paint manufacturer's instructions.
- Apply a clear, water-based varnish (polyurethane for indoors, patio/paving seal for outdoors) to protect the painted design.
Compatibility:
This stencil is compatible with most water-based paints. It works on clean painted walls, existing flat wall and floor tiles, paving slabs, and paths. Ensure surfaces are smooth and flat.
Care:
Clean the stencil immediately after each use with warm water and a non-abrasive household cleaner to remove paint residue. Allow it to air dry completely before storing. Proper cleaning ensures the stencil can be reused effectively.
