Full details

Umbrella Bamboo, also known as Fargesia 'Asian Wonder', is a clump-forming and non-invasive bamboo that is easy to grow and quick to fill out. It is an excellent choice for privacy screening, blocking road noise, and traffic pollution. Young plants have green stems that mature to a deep ruby red after 3 to 5 years. The plant features attractive olive green foliage that contrasts beautifully with the colourful canes, giving it a tropical appearance. For a striking architectural look, strip some of the lower foliage away to showcase the decorative stems. This bamboo can reach a height of 3 meters and spread up to 1.2 meters. It is ideal for adding structure and movement to gardens, and can be planted in pots, beds, or borders. It thrives in full sun or partial shade in moist, well-draining soil, and prefers a sheltered position protected from cold winds. Supplied as 2 x Fargesia Asian Wonder (Bamboo) in 9cm pots, with plants approximately 20 to 45cm tall.
