Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Prepare Wire: Strip the end of the wire to the appropriate length (typically 5-7mm for this terminal size).
- Insert Wire: Slide the stripped wire end into the ring terminal until it is fully seated.
- Crimp: Use a suitable crimping tool for 22-18 AWG wire to ensure a firm mechanical connection between the wire and the terminal barrel.
- Apply Heat: Use a heat gun or a specialized heat shrink torch. Apply heat evenly to the tubing, starting from the center of the connection and working outwards towards the ends. The tubing will shrink and the internal adhesive will melt and flow, creating a seal.
Compatibility:
- Wire Gauge: Compatible with wires ranging from 22 AWG to 18 AWG.
- Screw Size: The 6.4mm diameter ring is designed for M4 (or #8) screws or posts.
- Environment: Suitable for automotive, marine, industrial, and general electrical applications.
Care:
These are single-use components. Once installed, they do not require ongoing maintenance. Ensure the connection is protected from excessive physical stress after installation. Avoid exposing the terminals to extreme temperatures beyond their rated operating range (typically -55°C to 125°C).
