Product Information

Full details

The Samuel Alexander 4ft Animated Lunging Clown is designed for Halloween enthusiasts and professional haunted house creators looking to deliver high-impact jump scares. Its primary benefit is the combination of an aggressive lunging motion with chilling audio, creating a deeply immersive horror experience that thrives on sudden movement. Potential users should note that while it is suitable for sheltered outdoor use, it requires a constant mains power connection, which may limit placement options depending on your available outlet proximity.

FAQs

Is this decoration suitable for outdoor use?

It is suitable for sheltered outdoor use only. It must be kept away from rain, snow, and excessive humidity.

Can I adjust the volume of the scary phrases?

The sound output is fixed. Ensure it is placed in a space where the audio level will not be muffled by thick walls or excessive background noise.

What power source does it use?

It is mains-powered. Please ensure you have a standard power outlet accessible within the reach of the power cord.

Does it need to be manually reset after a lunge?

No, the mechanism is designed to retract automatically after the lunge sequence completes.

How do I toggle between motion and sound activation?

There is a control switch located on the base or near the power input box that allows you to toggle the input mode for the sensors.

Troubleshooting

The clown does not lunge when someone approaches.

Verify the activation setting (sound or motion) and ensure the sensors are not obscured by clothing or debris. Check that the unit is fully powered.

The movement seems sluggish or incomplete.

Check the power supply to ensure it is receiving consistent voltage. Inspect the internal mechanism for any fabric tangles or obstructions.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Unexpected lunging movement provides a highly effective jump scare
Dual-sensor activation allows for hands-free operation
Disturbing design elements enhance the overall atmosphere
Ideal size for indoor or sheltered porch displays
Mains-powered design ensures continuous operation without battery changes

Cons

Requires a nearby mains power outlet for operation
Not suitable for fully exposed outdoor weather conditions
Spring-loaded mechanism requires careful handling during storage

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setting up the lunging clown is straightforward: assemble the support frame as directed, connect the base components, and plug the included mains adapter into a standard electrical outlet.

Assembly: Ensure the base is level to prevent the lunge mechanism from sticking. Check that the clothing does not obstruct the mechanical arm movement.
Care: Keep the prop dry at all times. After the Halloween season, gently wipe the surface with a dry cloth and store the unit in a climate-controlled environment. Avoid folding or creasing the mechanical joints during storage to prevent long-term damage to the spring system.
