Setup, Compatibility & Care
Upon arrival, carefully remove the bespoke packaging and inspect the root ball. If planting in a container, choose a pot at least 20-30 liters in size with adequate drainage holes to prevent waterlogging. Use a high-quality, loam-based potting compost to ensure long-term nutrient availability. If planting directly in the ground, dig a hole twice the width of the current pot and incorporate organic matter into the backfill soil to encourage root development. Water the tree thoroughly after planting and maintain a consistent moisture level for the first 12 months. Apply a general-purpose slow-release fertilizer in early spring to support vigorous new growth. Pruning should be kept to a minimum, primarily focusing on removing dead or crossing branches in late winter before the sap begins to rise.
