Setup & Installation
Installing the Eurocell 9mm Fascia Cover Board is designed to be straightforward for DIYers and professionals alike.
- Preparation: Ensure the existing surface (timber fascia, window sill, etc.) is clean, dry, and free from loose debris or rot. Any significantly damaged timber should be repaired or replaced before capping.
- Measurement: Accurately measure the length required. Remember, the boards come in 5-meter lengths and various widths.
- Cutting: Use appropriate cutting tools (e.g., fine-toothed saw or PVC saw) for a clean, straight edge. Ensure cuts are precise for a snug fit.
- Fixing: The boards are typically fixed using appropriate adhesive and/or non-corrosive screws (e.g., stainless steel or UPVC-specific screws). For fascia, secure through the existing timber. For internal uses, ensure a strong, even bond.
- Joints: If joining multiple boards, use purpose-made jointing trims or ensure a clean, neat butt joint for a seamless finish.
Compatibility
This product is compatible with:
- Existing sound timber fascia boards.
- Various internal window sill types.
- Standard window reveal constructions.
- Common pipework boxing applications.
*Note*: It is crucial that the underlying timber or surface is structurally sound, as the cover board is a cosmetic and protective layer, not a structural one.
Care & Maintenance
One of the key benefits of Eurocell Fascia Cover Boards is their *maintenance-free* nature.
- Cleaning: Simply wipe down with warm soapy water and a soft cloth to remove dirt or grime. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals, which can damage the PVC-u surface.
- Inspection: Periodically check for any signs of damage or dislodgement, especially after extreme weather.
- No painting, sanding, or sealing is required, ever.
