Product Information

Full details

This guide is for homeowners and decorators seeking a high-quality, user-friendly paint for interior walls and ceilings. The key benefit is its exceptional durability and easy-clean finish, making it ideal for busy households. A potential caveat is its ultra-matte finish, which may not be preferred for high-gloss aesthetics. Frenchic Wall Paint in Cream is a washable, breathable, chalk and mineral paint designed for interior use, offering excellent coverage and an ultra-matte finish. It acts as its own primer and topcoat, simplifying the painting process.

FAQs

Do I need to use a primer with Frenchic Wall Paint?

No, Frenchic Wall Paint is self-priming. This means it can be applied directly to most prepared surfaces without the need for a separate primer.

Is this paint suitable for kitchens and bathrooms?

It is suitable for kitchen cupboards and interior walls/ceilings. However, it is not recommended for very wet areas like shower enclosures or bath surrounds due to its ultra-matte finish.

How do I clean the painted surface?

Once fully cured, the paint is completely scrubbable. You can clean marks and spills with a damp cloth or sponge. For tougher stains, use a mild soap and water solution.

What is the coverage rate of this paint?

A 2.5l tin covers up to 35m² with one coat. For best results and durability, two coats are recommended, meaning approximately 17.5m² coverage per 2.5l tin.

Can I use this paint on furniture?

Yes, this paint is also suitable for use on wooden furniture, interior woodwork, and kitchen cupboards, providing a durable and attractive finish.

What is the finish of this paint?

The paint has an ultra-matte finish, which is a sophisticated, non-reflective surface.

Is this paint safe for children's rooms?

Yes, it is water-based, low VOC, virtually odourless, and certified safe for use on children's toys (EN71-3 certified), making it a safe choice for nurseries and playrooms.

Troubleshooting

Paint not adhering well

Ensure the surface was properly cleaned and free from dust, grease, or old flaking paint before application. Lightly abrading very glossy surfaces may improve adhesion.

Streaky or uneven finish

Ensure the paint is thoroughly stirred. Apply thin, even coats, avoiding overworking the paint. Use a good quality brush or roller and maintain a wet edge.

Difficult to clean marks

Allow the paint to cure fully (usually several days to a week) before attempting heavy cleaning. Use only mild soap and water with a soft cloth or sponge.

Clumpy or dry paint in the tin

Ensure the tin is sealed properly after each use. If paint has dried out, it may not be usable. Try gently stirring if only a small amount of dried paint is present, but do not force it.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Preparation: Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, or flaking paint. While the paint is self-priming, extremely glossy or problematic surfaces may benefit from light abrasion.

Application: Stir the paint thoroughly before use. Apply with a good quality brush or roller. Typically, two coats are recommended for optimal depth of colour and durability. Allow adequate drying time between coats as per the manufacturer's guidelines.

Compatibility: Suitable for interior walls and ceilings. Also compatible with wooden furniture, interior woodwork, wooden floors, kitchen cupboards, metal, powder-coated radiators, and interior uPVC. Avoid using in extremely wet areas such as shower enclosures or directly on bath surrounds.

Care: Once fully cured, the paint is completely scrubbable. Clean spills and marks promptly with a damp cloth or sponge. For tougher stains, use mild soap and water, and gently scrub. Avoid abrasive cleaners or tools that could damage the ultra-matte finish.
