Full details

The Genista Lydia Spanish Gorse is a deciduous shrub that produces bright yellow, pea-like flowers in early summer. This ornamental variety is dwarf, typically reaching heights of less than 0.5 meters. It is ideal for use as edging along driveways or for covering rock walls. Originating from the hills of France and Spain, the Spanish Gorse features arching or trailing branches that can effectively cover difficult-to-grow areas in the garden. It thrives in full sunlight and requires moderately fertile, well-drained soil. Once established, it needs minimal watering. This plant is known for being easy to grow and low maintenance, making it suitable for beginner gardeners. While its small leaves have little ornamental value, the profuse golden blooms create a stunning spring-summer display that attracts bees and butterflies. Pruning should be done after the flowering season to prepare the plant for the next blooming cycle. Use it to cover sunny slopes or as a ground cover for a vibrant display of golden blooms.
