Full details
The wicker Igloo Hedgehog House offers hedgehogs and other mammals a safe retreat from hazards like garden strimmers, forks, tools, pets, and predators such as badgers and foxes. It's safer than compost heaps or bonfires where hedgehogs are at risk. The round painted steel frame features a felted, waterproof roof covered with a brushwood finish and decorated with rattan bands. As it's made from natural materials, its appearance may vary. The Igloo is more spacious than the Hogitat and can accommodate family groups, including mothers and hoglets. Its small entrance tunnel is designed to deter predators like badgers and dogs. Primarily for shelter, it can also be used for hibernation if additional brushwood cover is provided in winter. To site it, locate the Igloo within cover, out of the prevailing wind, and pile leaves or foliage around it for camouflage. Place dry grass or leaves inside for nesting material. If boisterous dogs or badgers are present, the igloo can be anchored down. Rattan or natural brushwood-style hedgehog houses with open bottoms are unsuitable for Hedgehog Rescue Centres; wooden houses with opening roofs are recommended for easier inspection of recuperating hedgehogs. Dimensions: H:22.0 x W:59.0 x D:53.0 cm. Colour: Brown. Guarantee: 1 year.
