Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: To plant Callitriche, you can place the bunches directly into the pond, either loosely in shallow areas or submerged. For more controlled growth, use weighted mesh baskets filled with substrate, allowing the stems to grow through. It establishes best in areas with good sunlight.
Compatibility: Callitriche is compatible with most pond fish and other aquatic plants. It thrives in full sun to partial shade. It is suitable for still or gently flowing water. Avoid planting in areas with very strong currents.
Care: Callitriche is a low-maintenance plant. In spring and summer, if it becomes too dense or starts to cover too much of the water surface, simply remove excess plant material by hand. This will help maintain water circulation and prevent it from overwhelming other plants. No special feeding is required.
