Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Ensure your truck, trailer, or flatbed is equipped with suitable anchor points, such as d-rings or reinforced tie-down points, that are compatible with the twisted snap hooks.
- Position the load securely on the hauling surface.
- Attach one twisted snap hook to an anchor point on the load or trailer frame.
- Thread the webbing through the ratchet buckle, pulling it taut to remove slack.
- Operate the ratchet mechanism by moving the handle up and down until the webbing is tightened to the desired tension. Ensure the ratchet is fully engaged and locked.
- Attach the second twisted snap hook to another compatible anchor point, ensuring a direct pull path that prevents the load from shifting.
- Double-check that both hooks are securely latched and that the webbing is tight and properly tensioned.
Compatibility:
These tie-downs are designed to work with standard d-rings, stake pockets, and other robust anchor points found on trucks, trailers, and flatbeds. The 2-inch webbing width is standard for heavy-duty applications. Ensure your anchor points have a SWL sufficient for the load being secured.
Care:
- Regularly inspect the webbing for cuts, fraying, or UV damage. Check the ratchet mechanism and snap hooks for corrosion or bending.
- Clean the straps with mild soap and water using a damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners that could damage the webbing or plating.
- Allow straps to dry completely before storing to prevent mildew.
- Store the tie-downs in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures, to maximize their lifespan.
