Setup, Compatibility & Care
To install the belt, first ensure the vacuum is unplugged from the power source for safety. Remove the base plate of the vacuum head—usually secured by a few screws—to expose the motor pulley and the brush roll. Slide the old belt off and inspect the path for any tangled hair or debris before looping the new Z2278 belt around the motor spindle and the brush roll. Once seated, rotate the brush roll manually to ensure it moves freely without the belt binding or twisting. For care, avoid picking up large, rigid objects that could cause the brush roll to seize, as this friction is the primary cause of premature belt snapping.
