Product Information

Full details

Ocry-gel by TVM UK is a specialized carbomer-based eye lubricant designed for pet owners and veterinary professionals who need to manage dry eye conditions in dogs, cats, horses, and exotic pets. The primary benefit of this product is its ability to deeply hydrate the ocular surface through its high water-retention capacity, ensuring long-lasting comfort for the animal. However, users should be aware that as a viscous gel, it may cause temporary blurred vision immediately following application, requiring a brief adjustment period for the pet.

FAQs

Is Ocry-gel safe for exotic pets?

Yes, it is formulated to be compatible with the ocular anatomy of dogs, cats, horses, and various exotic species.

Does this leave white crusty marks on my pet's fur?

No, one of the primary features of this gel is that it dries without leaving white streaks or residue.

How often should I apply the gel?

The frequency should be determined by your veterinarian based on the specific needs and condition of your pet's eyes.

Can I use this with other eye drops?

Yes, but it is recommended to wait several minutes between applications of different products; consult your vet for the specific sequence.

Why is the gel so thick?

The thickness is due to the Carbopol 980 NF polymer, which allows the product to remain on the eye surface longer than a liquid drop.

Troubleshooting

Gel is difficult to squeeze out of the tube

Ensure the cap is fully removed and check for any dried residue at the tip; if present, wipe the tip gently with a sterile, lint-free gauze.

Pet is squinting immediately after application

This is a normal reaction to the initial viscosity of the gel; keep the animal calm for a few minutes until they adjust to the sensation.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To apply Ocry-gel, ensure your hands are clean and the animal is securely held. Remove the cap, gently pull down the lower eyelid to create a small pocket, and squeeze a small amount of gel directly onto the ocular surface.

Compatibility: Safe for use alongside most other eye medications, but always consult your veterinarian regarding the order of administration if using multiple products.
Care: Keep the tip of the applicator nozzle away from direct contact with the eye, eyelids, or fingers to prevent bacterial contamination. Always recap the tube immediately after use and store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
