The Rutland Box Pergola is designed for garden owners seeking a modern, minimalist outdoor structure. Its primary benefit is a stylish, contemporary aesthetic that complements structured garden designs, offering a distinct alternative to traditional pergolas. A key consideration is that it's designed to be concreted in situ, requiring additional braces for freestanding use.

The Box Pergola is designed to be concreted in situ. For freestanding use, it is essential to purchase and install the 8x braces for structural stability.
The pergola is constructed from high-quality, pressure-treated Northern European Redwood.
The corner posts are solid and measure 95mm x 95mm.
You can cut the posts to your desired length during setup. Optional add-ons are also available for changing the standard post height from 2.7m to 3m.
The pergola comes with heavy-duty, corrosion-treated fixings for assembly.
After cutting the posts to length, use the supplied flat drill bit to drill a hole into the center of the bottom of each post. This hole will locate the post onto the bolt-down or spiked foot for secure attachment.
The pergola weighs approximately 117 kg.
Ensure all fixings are tightened securely. If freestanding, verify that the 8x braces have been correctly installed and are robust. If concreted in, check that the concrete base is fully cured and stable.
Clean the affected areas with a mild soap and water solution. Apply a fresh coat of a suitable wood preservative, stain, or sealant designed for outdoor use to protect the timber and restore its appearance.
Ensure you are using a high-quality drill bit appropriate for wood. If encountering resistance, consider using a pilot hole or a stepped drill bit. Ensure the post is securely clamped before drilling.
Double-check that you are using the correct parts for the current step as per the instructions. Ensure no previous steps were missed or incorrectly executed. Loosen fixings slightly to allow for adjustment, then re-tighten once aligned.
