The General Genrock 2K Deep Black paint is a professional-grade, two-component acrylic urethane topcoat designed for automotive technicians and industrial refinishers seeking a high-gloss, durable finish. It excels in providing superior opacity and color retention, making it an ideal choice for single-stage repairs that demand professional-grade performance; however, users should be aware that because it is a two-component system, it requires precise mixing with a hardener and proper safety gear to ensure a safe and successful application.

No, General Genrock 2K is a high-quality single-stage topcoat, meaning it provides both the color and the gloss in one application.
Once the hardener is added, the chemical reaction begins. You should typically use the mixed material within 2 to 4 hours depending on the ambient temperature.
While it is formulated primarily for spray application to achieve a professional finish, industrial use may allow for other methods, but spray application is highly recommended for gloss and consistency.
Due to the isocyanates present in 2K coatings, a full-face respirator with fresh air supply or appropriate organic vapor cartridges is mandatory, along with chemical-resistant gloves and protective clothing.
Store the containers in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight and keep the lids tightly sealed to prevent moisture contamination.
Ensure the correct ratio of hardener was used and check that the spray pressure is sufficient for proper atomization.
Verify storage conditions of the hardener and ensure it has not expired; check that the mixing ratio is accurate.
Adjust the spray gun fluid flow and air pressure, or consider adding a slow-evaporating reducer to allow the paint more time to flow out.
To ensure optimal performance, the surface must be properly sanded, cleaned with a degreaser, and primed before application. As this is a 2K (two-component) product, you must strictly follow the manufacturer's specified mixing ratio for the hardener and reducer. Ensure all work is performed in a well-ventilated area, preferably a spray booth, using a supplied-air respirator. After application, allow the paint to cure fully in a dust-free environment according to the technical data sheet's temperature and humidity guidelines. Clean spray equipment immediately after use with a high-quality lacquer thinner or dedicated gun wash before the product cures, as hardened 2K paint is extremely difficult to remove from internal passages.
