Setup, Compatibility & Care
This chain is a 420-pitch, 134-link model. Before installation, ensure your motorcycle sprockets are also 420-pitch and show no signs of "hooked" or worn teeth, as installing a new chain on worn sprockets will cause premature failure of the chain pins.
- Remove the old chain and check sprocket alignment.
- Route the new chain over the sprockets; if the length is too long, use a chain breaker tool to remove excess links.
- Connect the ends using the provided clip link, ensuring the clip's closed end faces the direction of travel.
- Adjust tension according to your motorcycle manufacturer's specifications—typically 25-35mm of chain slack.
- Apply lubricant to the rollers and side plates to maintain the protective film.
- Regularly inspect the chain for stiff links or elongated pins every 5-10 operating hours.
