Its methylene-chloride free, non-flammable formulation has minimal evaporation that continues to work and does not 'flash off'. Non-caustic, and non-drip it is ideal for vertical surfaces and less accessible areas and is suitable for indoor and outdoor application.
Preparation: Read label fully before use. Wear protective gloves. Protect floor coverings, textiles, and surfaces you do not want to come into contact with the stripper. Suitable for use on wood and masonry, and most metal substrates. Test a small, inconspicuous area of metals, plastics and other substrates to determine compatibility. Ensure surfaces to be stripped are dry. ENSURE THE CONTAINER IS SECURELY CLOSED AND SHAKE CONTAINER WELL BEFORE USE.
Application: Pour a quantity of TX10 into a suitable container. Apply a generous, thick even coat by brush onto the surface to be stripped at a rate of 1 litre per square metre. Do not brush out. Leave for approximately 1 hour until the product reacts with the paint or varnish and apply a second coat of stripper using a dabbing motion. For areas where there are fewer than 5 layers of paint or varnish, a second coat may not be necessary. Leave until the stripper has softened the coating and scrape-off using a shave hook. Repeat the process if necessary*. Rub down the stripped area with a scrubbing brush. DO NOT USE WIRE WOOL. Wash down the stripped area with detergent and water. Rinse with clean water and allow to dry.
Technical: *For maximum effect, where there is a significant number of paint-layers to be removed, cover the applied TX10 with plastic sheeting and leave for 6-8 hours prior to scraping. Bartoline TX10 strips most solvent and water borne paint and varnishes including polyurethane varnishes. STORE IN A COOL, DRY PLACE. PROTECT FROM FROST.
The Bartoline TX10 Paint and Varnish Stripper is designed for DIYers and professionals needing to remove multiple layers of paint and varnish efficiently. Its key benefit is a powerful, non-flammable, methylene-chloride-free formula that stays wet and continues working, ideal for vertical or hard-to-reach areas. A potential caveat is the need for patience, as effective stripping, especially of thick layers, may require extended dwell times or multiple applications.

FAQs
Is Bartoline TX10 safe to use indoors?
Yes, TX10 is formulated to be methylene-chloride free, non-flammable, and non-caustic, making it suitable for indoor applications. Ensure adequate ventilation and protect surrounding areas.
How long should I leave the stripper on the surface?
For up to 5 layers, approximately 1 hour might be sufficient. For thicker layers or maximum effect, cover with plastic sheeting and leave for 6-8 hours.
What types of paint and varnish can it remove?
It strips most solvent and water-borne paints and varnishes, including polyurethane varnishes.
Can I use this on plastic?
It is recommended to test compatibility on a small, inconspicuous area of plastics before applying to the entire surface, as results can vary.
What should I use to scrape off the softened paint?
Use a shave hook or similar scraper. Do NOT use wire wool, as it can damage the surface.
How do I clean the surface after stripping?
Wash down the stripped area with detergent and water, then rinse thoroughly with clean water and allow to dry.
What are the storage recommendations?
Store TX10 in a cool, dry place and protect it from frost. Always ensure the container is securely closed after use.
Troubleshooting
Stripper not softening paint effectively
Ensure a generous, thick coat was applied and not brushed out. For stubborn or multiple layers, consider covering with plastic sheeting and extending the dwell time to 6-8 hours. Reapply if necessary.
Product seems to be drying out too quickly
This indicates a need for a thicker application or covering with plastic sheeting to prevent premature evaporation and maintain the active state.
Residue left after scraping
Scrape off softened paint thoroughly. If significant residue remains, another application or extended dwell time may be required. Ensure final cleanup involves washing with detergent and water.
Discoloration on metal surfaces
This may indicate incompatibility. Ensure a test patch was performed. If discoloration occurs, clean the area immediately with detergent and water, rinse, and allow to dry. Avoid further application on that metal type.
