FAQs

What are the ideal hand circumference measurements for each size?

Sizing is based on hand circumference: S is 18-20cm, M is 20-22cm, and L is 22-24cm. Measure your hand circumference for the best fit.

Can I wash these gloves in a washing machine?

No, machine washing is not recommended. Hand wash gently with cold water and mild soap, then air dry.

Are these gloves suitable for extreme cold temperatures, like below -10°C?

While designed for adverse and extreme conditions, their suitability for extremely low temperatures depends on individual tolerance and duration of exposure. For prolonged use in very cold weather, consider using liner gloves.

How does the retractable thumb and mitt feature work?

Magnets secure the retractable thumb and mitt. You can fold back the mitt portion to expose your fingers and thumb, or keep it fully closed for maximum warmth.

Will the rubberised palm wear out quickly?

The rubberised palm is designed for durability and grip. Proper care, such as avoiding excessive folding and air drying, will help prolong its lifespan.

Can I use these gloves for activities other than photography?

Yes, they are ideal for anyone operating tech equipment in adverse weather, including drone pilots, outdoor enthusiasts, and field technicians.

Troubleshooting

Touchscreen not responding

Ensure the glove surface is clean and dry. Try pressing slightly firmer. Verify the device's touchscreen is enabled and functional without gloves.

Gloves feel too tight or too loose

Adjust the wrist strap for a secure fit. If the overall fit is incorrect, consult the sizing guide and consider exchanging for a different size.

Reduced dexterity

Practice using the gloves for a short period to adapt to the feel. Ensure the retractable thumb/mitt is engaged correctly for the task.

Magnets not holding retractable parts

Check the magnets for any debris. Ensure the parts are aligned correctly for the magnetic connection to engage fully.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Excellent grip on equipment due to rubberised palm.
Maintains high dexterity for operating technology.
Touchscreen compatibility for seamless device use.
Versatile design with retractable thumb and mitt.
Effective warmth and weather resistance.

Cons

Sizing needs careful verification for best fit.
May not offer sufficient warmth for *extremely* frigid conditions without additional layers.
Reliance on magnetic clasps may be a long-term durability concern for some users.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup: The RucPac Extreme Tech Gloves require no specific setup. Ensure the adjustable wrist strap is tightened for a snug fit. The magnetic clasps for the retractable thumb and mitt should be tested to ensure they secure properly.

Compatibility: These gloves are designed to be compatible with most touch-enabled devices, including smartphones, tablets, and some GPS units. They are also designed to work with RucPac Professional Tech Gloves, though direct compatibility with other brands is not guaranteed.

Care: To maintain the gloves' performance and longevity:

Cleaning: Hand wash gently with cold water and mild soap. Avoid harsh detergents or machine washing.
Drying: Air dry completely away from direct heat sources (e.g., radiators, direct sunlight). Do not tumble dry.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry place when not in use. Avoid folding or creasing the rubberised palm area excessively.
