Troubleshooting
Paint not adhering well to the surface
Ensure the surface was properly prepared, clean, dry, and sound. Use a suitable primer (like Weathershield Stabilising Primer) for powdery or friable surfaces. Ensure adequate thinning for the first coat on new or bare surfaces.
Uneven finish or brush marks visible
Stir the paint thoroughly before and during application. Apply using smooth, even strokes with a good quality brush or roller. Avoid overworking the paint. Ensure consistent application conditions.
Mould growth appearing shortly after painting
While the paint contains fungicide, persistent dampness or poor ventilation can still encourage mould. Ensure adequate drainage and ventilation around the painted area. Re-clean affected areas if necessary and apply a fresh coat if the issue persists.
Paint is too thick or too thin
For new/bare surfaces, thin the first coat with white spirit (up to 1 part white spirit to 10 parts paint). Do not thin subsequent coats unless absolutely necessary and follow recommended thinning ratios. Ensure paint is at an appropriate working temperature.
