FAQs
Does this cap fit diesel models?
No, this specific model (ELF043) is designed only for petrol Citroen 2CV and Dyane models.
What should I do if I lose both keys?
As this is a mechanical locking cap, there is no master override. It is highly recommended to keep the spare key in a safe, accessible location.
Is this cap MOT compliant?
Yes, it is designed to meet both MOT and European safety standards regarding fuel system sealing.
Why is there an audible click when I tighten it?
The 'click' is the Torque Override feature working to prevent you from overtightening the cap and damaging the filler neck threads.
Does it require a specific tool for installation?
No, the cap is designed for simple, tool-free hand installation.
Troubleshooting
Cap does not click when tightening
Ensure the cap is properly threaded onto the filler neck; if the threads are clean and undamaged, try removing and re-installing.
Key is difficult to turn in the lock
Apply a small amount of graphite-based lubricant to the key and cylinder. Do not use oil-based lubricants as they may attract dirt.
Fuel smell around the filler neck
Check that the rubber gasket on the underside of the cap is seated correctly and free from cracks or debris.
