Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Placement: Position the pump on a stable, level surface near the water source and the discharge point.
- Hose Connection: Attach suitable hoses to the 2" inlet and outlet ports. Ensure connections are secure to prevent leaks.
- Priming: For initial use or after the pump has been dry, it may require priming. This typically involves filling the pump housing and inlet hose with water.
- Fueling: Fill the engine's fuel tank with the appropriate grade of unleaded petrol as specified in the engine manual.
- Starting: Follow the engine's starting procedure, which usually involves setting the choke, turning on the fuel, and pulling the recoil starter.
Compatibility:
The pump features standard 2" (50mm) inlet and outlet connections, making it compatible with most common hose types of the same diameter. Ensure hoses are rated for the pressure and type of water being pumped.
Care and Maintenance:
- After Each Use: Flush the pump with clean water, especially if dirty water was pumped, to remove debris from the impeller and casing.
- Storage: Store the pump in a dry, protected location. Drain any remaining water from the pump and hoses to prevent freezing in cold weather.
- Engine Maintenance: Regularly check and maintain the petrol engine according to the manufacturer's instructions. This includes oil checks, air filter cleaning, and spark plug inspection.
- Filter: If the pump is equipped with an intake strainer, ensure it is clean to prevent blockages and maintain flow rate.
