Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
This wallpaper utilizes a paste-the-wall method. This means adhesive is applied directly to the wall, not the paper itself, which can streamline the hanging process. Ensure your walls are clean, dry, smooth, and free from old wallpaper or loose paint. A wallpaper primer is recommended for best results and easier removal later.
- Apply wallpaper adhesive evenly to the wall in manageable sections, following the manufacturer's adhesive instructions.
- Unroll the wallpaper and cut strips to the required length, allowing for a slight overlap at the top and bottom.
- Hang the first strip vertically, aligning it with a plumb line or corner.
- Butt-join subsequent strips, ensuring the pattern aligns precisely.
- Smooth the wallpaper onto the wall using a wallpaper brush or roller, working from the center outwards to remove air bubbles.
- Trim excess wallpaper at the ceiling and skirting board with a sharp knife.
Compatibility:
Suitable for most interior walls, including plaster, plasterboard, and previously painted surfaces (ensure paint is stable and non-flaking).
- Not recommended for use in areas with excessive moisture or direct water exposure beyond normal bathroom humidity.
- Test adhesion on a small, inconspicuous area if unsure about wall surface suitability.
Care:
The scrubbable nature of this wallpaper means it can be cleaned gently.
- For light marks, use a damp sponge or cloth with mild soap and water.
- Wipe gently; avoid excessive rubbing or abrasive cleaners, which could damage the metallic finish.
- Rinse the area with clean water and blot dry with a soft cloth.
