The DeWALT Metric Speed Square is designed for professional carpenters, metalworkers, and DIY enthusiasts who require a durable and highly readable tool for precise layout work. Its primary benefit lies in its robust, extra-thick extruded aluminum construction, which offers exceptional stability as both a marking tool and a saw guide; however, users should note that the 18cm length is optimized for smaller materials and may not be suitable for large-scale timber framing projects.

It is highly accurate for layout work, but the 18cm size is intended for smaller material and is not a substitute for a full-sized rafter square.
The graduations are stamped directly into the aluminum, which prevents the fading associated with printed scales.
Yes, the extra-thick body and large base make it an excellent and stable guide for circular saw cuts.
The tool is constructed from high-quality, heavy-duty extruded aluminum.
This specific model features metric graduations.
Clean the surface with a damp cloth and mild soap; avoid using abrasive brushes that may scratch the finish.
Ensure the surface of your material is free of sawdust, which acts as a lubricant and reduces the grip of the square's base.
This square requires no assembly or calibration out of the box. It is fully compatible with standard circular saws and marking implements such as carpenter pencils or markers. To maintain the tool, wipe it down with a clean, dry cloth after exposure to moisture to prevent oxidation. While the aluminum is heavy-duty, avoid dropping it on concrete from significant heights to prevent edge denting, which could compromise the accuracy of the square's 90-degree angle. Store in a dry area or a dedicated tool pouch to keep the graduations free from grit and debris.
