Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup Instructions
- Set Your Combination: Before mounting, open the key safe and locate the reset lever (usually on the inside of the door). Move it to the 'Reset' position. Enter your desired 4-digit combination using the dials, then return the lever to the 'Normal' position. Crucially, test your new combination several times with the door open before closing it.
- Choose Mounting Location: Select a discreet, secure, and easily accessible location on a solid surface (wood, brick, concrete) outdoors or indoors. Ensure it's out of direct view from passersby if possible.
- Mark Drilling Points: Hold the key safe against the wall at your chosen location and mark the drilling points through the mounting holes.
- Drill Pilot Holes: Use an appropriate drill bit (Info needed: [specific drill bit size]) to drill pilot holes at the marked points. If mounting into masonry, insert the provided wall anchors.
- Mount the Safe: Align the key safe with the drilled holes. Insert the provided screws through the safe's mounting holes and tighten them securely. Do not overtighten, as this could damage the safe or the mounting surface.
Compatibility
This key safe is designed for universal compatibility with standard keys and access cards. Its robust construction makes it suitable for both indoor and outdoor installation, adapting to various environmental conditions.
Care and Maintenance
- Combination Dials: Periodically wipe the combination dials clean with a damp cloth to remove dirt and dust. If the dials become stiff, a small amount of silicone-based lubricant can be applied sparingly.
- Shutter Door: Ensure the shutter door operates smoothly to protect the dials. Clean any debris that may obstruct its movement.
- Body: Wipe down the aluminum body with a non-abrasive cleaner to maintain its appearance and prevent grime buildup.
- Regular Checks: Periodically check that the mounting screws are tight and the unit is securely affixed to the wall.
