Setup, Compatibility & Care
To set up your Echeveria Starter Collection, ensure they are planted in good potting compost that offers excellent drainage. If repotting from the nursery pots, select 7cm pot covers or decorative pots. Place the collection in a location that receives bright, indirect light. Direct, intense sunlight can scorch the leaves, while insufficient light can cause leggy growth and pale colors.
Care Instructions:
- Watering: Water sparingly only when the soil has dried out completely. Overwatering is the most common cause of Echeveria problems. Allow excess water to drain away.
- Temperature: Keep indoors in a warm environment. These are tender plants and cannot tolerate frost.
- Soil: Use a well-draining soil mix, such as a cactus or succulent blend.
- Repotting: Repot only when the plant has significantly outgrown its current pot, typically every 2-3 years, preferably in spring.
- Cleaning: Gently wipe leaves with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust. Avoid using water, which can encourage rot on the rosette.
