Full details

The M1008 is the basic cargo truck variant of the first family of light military utility vehicles manufactured by General Motors since World War II. The first generation of GM’s vehicles developed under the CUCV (Commercial Utility Cargo Vehicle) program was based on the civilian Chevrolet C/K series and, apart from the M1008 pickup, included the M1009 utility vehicle, M1010 ambulance, M1028 shelter carriers and M1031 chassis-cab model. Nearly 75000 vehicles were manufactured between 1983 and 1987, most of which were delivered to the US Army (68210); the reminder went to the USAAF (3578 vehicles), US Marine Corps (2973) and US Navy (504). They served with the US forces around the world.
