FAQs
How much Dansand do I need?
The amount of sand needed will depend on the size of your paving area and the width of the joints. A 20kg bag typically covers a few square meters. It is best to measure the area and calculate the volume of the joints for an accurate estimate.
Can I use this on existing paving?
Yes, Dansand No Grow can be used on existing paving. Remove any existing weeds and debris from the joints before applying.
How long does it take to work?
The weed-inhibiting properties of Dansand begin working immediately. However, it may take a few weeks to see the full effect, as existing weeds gradually die off.
Is Dansand safe for pets and children?
Yes, Dansand is designed to be environmentally friendly and is generally safe for pets and children. However, avoid excessive inhalation of dust during application.
What colors are available?
Dansand No Grow Block Paving Sand is available in Beige and Grey.
How do I store Dansand?
Store the unopened bag in a dry place, away from moisture and direct sunlight.
What if it rains after application?
Rain will not wash away the Dansand. In fact, it helps to settle the sand and activate the weed-inhibiting properties.
Troubleshooting
Weeds are growing through the joints.
Ensure the joints are completely filled with Dansand. Reapply the sand as necessary. In areas with particularly aggressive weed growth, consider a second application.
The sand is washing away.
Ensure proper compaction during application. Avoid direct high-pressure washing. Consider using a sealant if erosion is a persistent issue.
Sand is stained or discolored.
Clean the area gently with water and a mild detergent. Avoid harsh chemicals.
