Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Prepare your natural hair by washing, conditioning, and detangling it thoroughly.
- Cornrow your natural hair flat against your scalp, ensuring the cornrows run in the direction you want your locs to fall.
- Use a latch hook or your fingers to pull the pre-made loop of a crochet loc through a cornrow.
- Thread the end of the crochet loc through the loop and pull it tight to secure.
- Repeat this process across your entire scalp, spacing the locs evenly.
- For a more defined look, you can dip the ends of the locs in low-temperature hot water to set them.
Compatibility:
This crochet hair is suitable for all scalp types due to its skin-friendly, odorless, and itch-free materials. It is compatible with various protective hairstyles and can be blended with natural hair if desired.
Care:
- Avoid excessive heat or prolonged exposure to high temperatures, as this can damage the synthetic fibers.
- Gently cleanse your scalp and hair using a mild shampoo and water. Focus on cleaning the scalp rather than vigorously washing the locs themselves.
- Use a satin bonnet or scarf at night to minimize friction and frizz.
- Avoid harsh brushing; instead, use your fingers or a wide-tooth comb to detangle any knots gently, starting from the ends.
- Condition the hair periodically with a leave-in conditioner spray if it feels dry, but avoid heavy oils that can weigh the hair down.
