This Melissa & Doug Play to Go Cake and Cookies Food Play Set is designed for young children aged 3 and up who love imaginative play and pretend cooking. Its key benefit is providing a self-contained, portable activity that encourages creativity, fine motor skills, and early learning concepts like sorting and color recognition. A potential caveat is that while durable, the smaller pieces might be a choking hazard for very young children not within the recommended age range. The set includes wooden and fabric play food for decorating cookies, cupcakes, and layer cakes, all stored within a convenient take-along cup with a fidget lid.

The 12-piece set includes: a take-along cup with a fidget lid and cord handle, 3 double-sided wooden cookies/cake layers, 3 felt icing layers, 2 wooden candy toppings, a cupcake sleeve, a wooden celebration candle, and an activity/instruction card.
This toy is suitable for children aged 3 years and older.
Wipe the wooden and plastic pieces with a damp cloth. Spot clean felt pieces gently if needed. Ensure all parts are dry before storage.
Yes, the set is specifically designed for portability with a cup that fits into car seats, strollers, and vehicle cup holders, making it ideal for travel.
It helps develop imaginative play, fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, sorting, counting, and color recognition.
The set uses self-stick tabs to attach the felt icing and wooden candy decorations to the wooden cookies, allowing for easy attachment and removal during play.
The pop-button fidget lid provides a tactile sensory experience rather than an audible one, making it suitable for quiet play environments.
Ensure the self-stick tabs on the wooden cookies and the felt icing/wooden candy pieces are clean and dry. Dust or debris can reduce their effectiveness.
Check for any obstructions around the lid or the fidget button. Ensure all play pieces are stored inside before closing. If it remains stiff, apply gentle, consistent pressure.
Handle felt pieces with care. Avoid excessive force or folding. If they become creased, lay them flat to regain their shape.
Check inside the cup thoroughly, as pieces can sometimes settle at the bottom. If pieces are definitively missing, contact the retailer or manufacturer for replacement options.
Setup: This play set requires no assembly. Simply open the cup and remove the contents to begin playing.
Compatibility: The set is designed for imaginative play and does not require batteries or any electronic compatibility. The cup is designed to fit standard car seat, stroller, and vehicle cup holders.
Care: To clean the play set, wipe the wooden and plastic components with a damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners. The felt pieces can be gently spot-cleaned if necessary. Ensure all parts are completely dry before storing them back in the cup to prevent moisture damage.
