FAQs
Are these envelopes weatherproof?
No, they are made of kraft paper and are intended for standard postal transit. They should be protected from rain.
Can I fit A3 documents in these?
No, these are specifically sized for A4 documents. An A3 document would need to be folded, which defeats the purpose of the board back.
Is the 'Please Do Not Bend' text mandatory?
It is pre-printed on the envelope to assist with shipping, but it does not guarantee postal worker compliance in all cases.
What is the thickness of the board?
The board back is 1000 microns thick, providing a high level of rigidity for your documents.
Can these be recycled?
Yes, they are made from 100% recycled material and can be recycled in most paper/cardboard recycling streams.
Troubleshooting
Adhesive strip is not sticking properly.
Ensure the surface is free of dust or debris and press firmly across the entire strip for 5 seconds.
Envelope bent during transit.
Ensure the contents are fully centered; if the document is very thin, add a piece of stiff card inside to increase overall rigidity.
Pros and Cons
Pros

- Easy to use peel-and-seal closure saves time.
- Clear 'Please Do Not Bend' warning reduces risk of mishandling.
- Eco-friendly, made from 100% recycled materials.
- Lightweight profile keeps shipping costs efficient.
Cons
- Rigid design does not allow for mailing non-flat objects.
- Specifically sized for A4; not suitable for larger document formats.
- Only intended for document and photo protection, not for heavy-duty shipping.
Setup, Compatibility & Care
Using the Triplast A4 Hard Board Back Envelopes is straightforward. Ensure your document is aligned centrally before peeling the adhesive strip. Press the flap firmly across the entire width of the envelope to ensure a complete seal. While the envelopes are durable, store them in a cool, dry environment to prevent the adhesive strip from degrading or the paper from absorbing moisture. These envelopes are compatible with standard A4 documents and smaller prints, but they are not intended to be used with items that bulge, as this may compromise the seal or cause the board back to deform.
