Setup, Compatibility & Care
Initial Setup:
Before the first ride, it is recommended to have the bike professionally assembled and inspected by a qualified bicycle mechanic. This includes proper installation of components, torquing of bolts to specification, and setting up suspension pressures based on rider weight and preference.
Compatibility:
- Wheels: Features a 29" front wheel and a 27.5" rear wheel. Both are Bontrager Line Comp 30, tubeless-ready.
- Drivetrain: Compatible with 12-speed Shimano Hyperglide+ chains and cassettes.
- Brakes: Designed for powerful disc brakes; check for specific rotor size compatibility if upgrading.
- Tires: Equipped with Bontrager XR5 Team Issue tires. Clearance for wider tires may vary; consult manufacturer specifications for maximum recommended tire width.
Care & Maintenance:
- Cleaning: Regularly clean the frame, drivetrain, and suspension with mild soap and water. Avoid high-pressure washing directly on bearings.
- Drivetrain Maintenance: Keep the chain clean and lubricated. Regularly check for wear on the chain, cassette, and chainrings.
- Suspension Service: Follow manufacturer recommendations for fork and rear shock service intervals to maintain optimal performance and longevity. This typically includes lower leg service and damper checks.
- Bolt Checks: Periodically check that all bolts, especially those on the stem, handlebars, and suspension pivots, are securely tightened.
