This pack of three ShieldUp Radiator Valve Bleed Keys is designed for homeowners and DIY enthusiasts needing to efficiently release trapped air from radiators and heating systems. The primary benefit is ensuring your heating system runs at peak performance by removing airlocks. A minor caveat is that while the keys are for the same valve size, their differing profiles mean one might fit better than another on certain valves. The pack includes three keys, each made to fit standard radiator valves, with varied designs for optimal grip and ease of use. Note: The previously included silver metal alloy key has been discontinued and replaced.

It is recommended to bleed your radiators at least once a year, typically before the start of the heating season, or whenever you notice a radiator is not heating up evenly.
These keys are used to open the small bleed valve located at the top of most radiators. This allows trapped air within the heating system to be released, which can improve heating efficiency and prevent noise.
They are designed to fit most standard radiator bleed valves. The pack includes three different profiles to increase the likelihood of a good fit for various valve designs.
The silver metal alloy key previously included in the pack has been discontinued and replaced.
Insert the key into the bleed valve, turn it slowly counter-clockwise until you hear a hissing sound (air escaping). Once water begins to drip, tighten the valve by turning clockwise. Wipe away any drips.
While pliers might fit some valves, bleed keys are specifically designed to fit the square or hexagonal slot on bleed valves and provide better control, reducing the risk of damaging the valve.
Radiator valves can have slight variations. Try one of the other keys in the pack, as their different profiles may offer a better fit for your specific valve.
Ensure you are using the key that provides the best grip. If the valve is very stiff, apply gentle, steady pressure. Avoid excessive force which could damage the valve.
Ensure the valve was tightened properly after bleeding. If leaking persists, the valve itself may require maintenance or replacement.
Setup: No setup is required. These are manual tools.
Compatibility: Designed to fit standard radiator bleed valves. While the keys are for the same valve size, the different profiles are intended to accommodate minor variations in valve design for a better fit.
Care: After use, wipe the keys clean with a dry cloth to remove any residual water or debris. Store them in a dry place to prevent corrosion. Regular cleaning ensures longevity and readiness for future use.
