Product Information

Full details

The FloPlast External Corner Trim is an essential component for professional cladding installers and DIY enthusiasts looking to achieve a clean, weather-resistant finish on building facades. It is specifically designed to conceal unsightly cut edges at corners when using 150mm Shiplap or 100mm V Joint systems. While it offers a secure and aesthetically pleasing result, the 5-metre length requires careful handling during transport and precise cutting to avoid material waste.

Troubleshooting

Front cover will not snap into place

Check that the cladding boards are not sitting too far into the channel, preventing the cover from seating properly.

Visible gaps between trim and cladding

Ensure the cladding boards are cut square and that the back profile is perfectly plumb against the corner battens.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Snap-fit design simplifies installation
  • Provides a clean, professional aesthetic
  • Protects vulnerable corner edges from weather damage
  • Compatible with common cladding widths

Cons

  • Length can be difficult to transport in standard vehicles
  • Not compatible with all non-FloPlast cladding systems
  • Requires precise cutting to ensure tight joints

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To install, first ensure your timber batten framework is securely attached to the wall with a corner batten present. Align the back piece of the corner trim with the corner batten and fix it using suitable corrosion-resistant screws. Install your cladding boards, leaving a small expansion gap if recommended by the cladding manufacturer. Finally, push the front cover section into the grooves of the back section until it snaps firmly into place. For maintenance, clean the trim periodically with a soft cloth and mild soapy water to maintain the Anthracite Grey finish; avoid abrasive cleaners or solvent-based chemicals that could dull the surface.
