FAQs
What material is the Alessi Dressed Cake Server made from?
The cake server is made from high-quality 18/10 stainless steel with a mirror-polished finish.
What does the 'relief decoration' refer to?
The relief decoration is an embossed, raised pattern on the surface of the stainless steel, adding an artistic and tactile element to the design.
Is this cake server dishwasher safe?
While made of stainless steel, hand washing is strongly recommended to maintain the mirror-polished finish and the integrity of the relief decoration, as harsh detergents and high heat in dishwashers can cause damage or dullness.
What is the length of the cake server?
The cake server measures 250 mm (approximately 9.8 inches) in length.
Who designed the Dressed collection?
The Dressed collection, including this cake server, was designed by the renowned Dutch designer Marcel Wanders.
How should I store the cake server?
Store the cake server in a dry place. To prevent scratches, avoid storing it with other sharp or abrasive utensils. Consider using a protective cloth or its original packaging if available.
Can this be used for serving other foods besides cake?
Yes, while designed as a cake server, it can be used to serve other desserts, pastries, or even appetizers where an elegant serving utensil is desired.
Troubleshooting
Server appears dull or has water spots.
Dry the server immediately after washing with a soft, lint-free cloth. For stubborn spots, use a stainless steel polish specifically designed for delicate finishes and a soft cloth.
Minor scratches on the surface.
For very light surface scratches on the mirror finish, a specialized stainless steel polish for mirrored surfaces and a very soft cloth may help minimize their appearance. Avoid further abrasive cleaning.
Food residue is difficult to remove.
Soak the affected area in warm, soapy water for a short period. Use a soft sponge or cloth to gently remove residue. Avoid using abrasive materials.
