The Winsor & Newton Professional Watercolour range is designed for serious artists who demand maximum pigment concentration, exceptional transparency, and archival permanence. Featuring a legacy palette of 107 vibrant shades, these paints are ideal for professional-grade illustrations and fine art; however, they require a higher level of technical skill to manage their intense pigment load and fluidity compared to student-grade alternatives.

While beginners can use them, the high pigment intensity requires a level of control that may be more rewarding for those with some experience.
These represent lightfastness ratings, indicating that the paint is resistant to fading over long periods when exposed to light.
Yes, they are compatible with other professional-grade watercolour paints, though mixing with lower-quality paints may affect the final transparency.
Keep them in a cool, dry environment with the caps securely fastened to maintain the moist consistency of the paint.
While they work with most brushes, a high-quality natural sable brush will provide the best handling and paint release.
Increase the water-to-paint ratio on your mixing palette to improve transparency and flow.
Check your pigment types; stick to single-pigment colors for cleaner mixtures and avoid over-mixing on the paper.
Ensure the cap is screwed on tightly after each use and avoid leaving the tube exposed to heat or direct sunlight.
To prepare for a session, squeeze a small amount of paint onto a non-porous palette. These paints work seamlessly with all traditional watercolour surfaces, including cotton-based cold-press and hot-press papers. To maintain the integrity of your work, store finished pieces away from direct sunlight in archival-grade folders. After use, rinse your brushes thoroughly with clean water and shape the bristles while damp to preserve their integrity. Ensure tubes are tightly capped to prevent the paint from drying out prematurely, and store them in a cool, dry place.
