No, this is a rewireable unit sold without a cable to allow for custom length requirements.
Yes, it is designed to BS1363 standards for use with standard UK 3-pin plugs.
This unit is designed for indoor use in homes, offices, and dry workshops; it is not weather-proof or IP-rated for outdoor exposure.
You will typically need a screwdriver, wire strippers, and a cable cutter to safely prepare the wires.
While it is heavy-duty, always ensure the total wattage of connected appliances does not exceed the maximum load rating of the cable you have installed and the socket's internal rating.
Check the fuse inside the socket's plug or the trailing socket itself, and ensure the wall outlet is providing power.
Verify that all wires inside the trailing socket are firmly connected to the correct terminals and the fuse has not blown.
To assemble the unit, use a high-quality flexible cable suitable for the intended load. Open the casing by removing the securing screws, strip your cable wires according to the internal terminal markings (Live, Neutral, and Earth), and ensure all screw terminals are tightened securely. Only use with compatible 3-core cable to ensure proper grounding. For care, keep the unit away from water and damp areas. Periodically inspect the cable for fraying or damage, and check that the internal fuse remains intact if the power indicator fails to illuminate.
