Setup, Compatibility & Care
- Preparation: Gather necessary tools (screwdrivers, wire strippers, etc.) and your vehicle's wiring diagram. Disconnect the vehicle's battery for safety.
- Mounting: Attach the metal mounting plate to the towbar or vehicle chassis in a suitable location. Ensure it's securely fastened.
- Wiring: Connect the wires from the socket to your vehicle's wiring, following the 7-pin wiring standard. The cable has different colored wires for each function (e.g., brake lights, indicators).
- Sealing: Use the flexible gasket to create a seal around the socket and mounting plate to prevent moisture ingress.
- Testing: Reconnect the vehicle battery and test all trailer lights (brake lights, indicators, running lights, fog light, and reverse light) to ensure correct functionality.
*Compatibility:* This socket is compatible with vehicles and trailers that use the standard 7-pin 'N' type connector. Check your vehicle's and trailer's specifications. Always verify the wiring diagram for your vehicle.
*Care:* Inspect the socket and cable regularly for damage or wear. Clean the socket contacts with a contact cleaner spray periodically. Ensure the gasket is in good condition to maintain a weather-resistant seal.
