Setup, Compatibility & Care
Sowing:
Sow seeds indoors from late winter to early spring, or directly outdoors from spring onwards after the risk of frost has passed.
- Sow seeds about 2-3 cm deep in pots filled with seed compost.
- Water gently and place in a warm, light position.
- Harden off seedlings before planting outdoors.
Planting:
Choose a sunny position with well-drained soil. Provide support such as netting, canes, or a trellis for the plants to climb. Space plants approximately 15-20 cm apart.
Care:
- Watering: Water regularly, especially during dry spells, and ensure good drainage.
- Feeding: Apply a high-potash fertilizer once the first flowers appear to encourage more blooms.
- Deadheading: Regularly remove spent flowers to prevent seed formation and encourage continuous blooming.
- Support: As the plants grow, gently tie them to their supports.
Compatibility:
This variety is compatible with most garden soils and can be grown alongside a wide range of flowering plants in beds, borders, and containers. It thrives in full sun.
