Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Initial Lacing: Before wearing for the first time, you may need to loosen the back cord lacing. If new to corsets, it can be helpful to have assistance with the initial lacing to achieve an even and comfortable fit.
- Putting On: Unzip the front fastening zip completely. Wrap the corset around your torso, closing the front zip. Once zipped, gently pull on the back lacing to tighten the corset to your desired comfort and shaping level. Tie the lacing securely.
- Attaching Sleeves/Suspenders: The mesh sleeves and suspender straps attach via small clasps or loops. Ensure these are securely fastened to avoid accidental detachment during wear.
Compatibility
This corset is designed for versatility. It can be paired with:
- Outerwear: Jeans, skirts, tailored trousers, or under a jacket when worn with the detachable sleeves.
- Intimate Wear: Lace-top stockings (using the removable suspender straps) or other lingerie pieces.
Care
To ensure the longevity and integrity of your corset, especially due to its steel boning and delicate materials, follow these care instructions:
- Hand Wash Only: Gently hand wash in cool water using a mild detergent.
- Avoid Machine Washing: Machine washing can damage the steel boning and delicate fabric.
- Do Not Bleach: Bleach can degrade the fabric and alter the color.
- Air Dry Flat: Lay flat or hang to air dry. Do not wring or twist. Avoid direct sunlight or high heat, which can affect elasticity and shape.
- Do Not Tumble Dry: High heat from a tumble dryer can damage the materials and boning.
- Do Not Iron: Ironing is generally not recommended for this type of garment as it can damage the boning and fabric. If absolutely necessary, use a very low heat setting with a pressing cloth on non-boned fabric areas, but proceed with extreme caution.
- Material Composition: Main fabric: `85% Nylon`, `15% Elastane`. Mesh: `92% Polyester`, `8% Elastane`. Cup lining: `100% Polyester` (excluding trim).
