Full details

The Unifix 80mm black slate hooks are designed for professional roofers and DIY enthusiasts needing a secure and durable solution for slate roofing installations. Their primary benefit is the quick and reliable fixing provided by the hook-point profile and enhanced longevity due to corrosion-resistant coating. A potential consideration is that the 80mm length might not be suitable for all slate thicknesses.

Troubleshooting

Hook does not engage securely with the slate.

Ensure the slate is correctly positioned and the hook-point is aligned with the slate's edge. Check if the slate thickness is compatible with the 80mm hook length.

Fastener is difficult to drive into the batten.

Verify the batten material is suitable for point-driven fasteners. Ensure the fastening tool is functioning correctly and has adequate power.

Hook appears to be rusting despite coating.

While coated for protection, prolonged exposure to harsh chemicals or extreme abrasion could potentially damage the coating. Inspect for physical damage to the coating. If minor, it should not affect structural integrity significantly.
