The Maypole 200A 8.5mm² Emergency Jump Leads are a reliable, essential tool for drivers of small cars, large cars, and vans up to 2.0 litres who need a dependable solution for unexpected flat batteries. These leads offer a convenient, easy-to-use design with heat and oil-resistant components, though they are intended primarily for occasional emergency use rather than heavy-duty, daily professional applications.

They are suitable for engines up to 2.0 litres, provided the diesel engine's cold cranking requirements do not exceed the capacity of these leads.
No, these are jump leads meant for bridging power between vehicles for immediate starting. They are not battery chargers.
This construction allows the cables to be lighter and more flexible while still providing effective conductivity for occasional emergency use.
It is generally recommended to keep the donor car engine running to ensure a steady supply of power during the jump-start attempt.
If cables get excessively hot, disconnect them immediately as it indicates an excessive current draw or a poor connection; allow them to cool before inspecting the battery.
Ensure a solid, clean contact point for the negative ground clamp and verify that the donor vehicle has a healthy battery.
Wiggle the clamp slightly to break through any terminal oxidation; if the connection remains poor, the clamp jaws may require cleaning.
Before using, verify that the donor vehicle battery matches the voltage of the flat battery. Store the leads in the provided PVC bag to prevent moisture or debris from damaging the insulation. Periodically inspect the clamps for signs of corrosion and ensure the cable housing remains free of cuts or deep abrasions. To maintain performance, avoid bending the cables at sharp angles during storage, as this can fatigue the internal conductors over time.
